Fernando Alonso is not pleased with Romain Grosjean after the Frenchman made a couple of aggressive moves during the Hungarian Grand Prix.
Alonso, who finished the race in fifth place, suggested that Grosjean overstepped the line on a number of occasions.
“We thought that the start was our only opportunity because we were not quick enough,” he said.
“In the start we didn’t maximise this. Grosjean was concentrating only on me, maybe he forgot that we are racing 22 cars.”
“But I was happy that he paid penalty after with Jenson [Button] to compensate a little bit his aggression,” he added, even though Grosjean’s penalty was for exceeding track limits when passing Felipe Massa.
Alonso also urged Ferrari to make swift improvements after admitting that they simply did not have the pace to match the leaders.
“At the end we didn’t have the pace. We were too slow with the soft, we were too slow with the medium. So you know we defend from [Mark] Webber, from Button, from Romain at the end so we were always defending because we were too slow in the race. Thanks to [Lewis] Hamilton and to Kimi [Raikkonen] the loss in points in the championship [to leader Sebastian Vettel] is not so high but obviously we want to close that gap and we need to improve immediately.”
