Scuderia Ferrari confirmed through Twitter that Fernando Alonso will leave the Italian giants at the end of the current season. Alonso joined Ferrari in 2010 from Renault. In his time with the Prancing Horse, the Spaniard won 11 races and finished on the podium 44 times.
Alonso is rumoured to join McLaren for the upcoming season, with Sebastian Vettel replacing Alonso at Ferrari. Alonso was unhappy with Ferrari, who could not give him a championship quality car. Time and again this season, Alonso delivered some brilliant results with the slower Ferrari drive.
