Ferrari has denied rumours regarding Kimi Raikkonen’s possible return to the team. Ferrari driver Felipe Massa has not been in the best of form and the team might be looking to find a replacement after the Brazilian’s contract with Ferrari expires at the end of this season.
There have been rumours that the Italian team is interested in their former driver Kimi Raikkonen. However, Ferrari has denied any truth in the rumours. “Right now, we’re really not giving any thought to the driver-market situation,” said a Ferrari spokesman.
The spokesman also added that the team’s priority at the moment is to work on Fernando Alonso‘s pursuit of the driver’s championship . However, sources indicate that some senior officials in the team believe that the Finn would be the ideal replacement for the outgoing Massa.
Raikkonen became a World Champion in 2007 when he was at Ferrari.
