Ferrari ready to shift focus to 2014

Ferrari, who currently lie in 2nd place in the Championship, just three points ahead of Mercedes, will now begin to shift focus on next year’s car after evaluating their performance at Singapore.

Team Principal Stefano Domenicali has said that they will probably shift focus rather than continuing to develop this year’s car after realizing that the gap to Red Bull is too much to recover. He said: “After the result of the Singapore Grand Prix we will make an assessment about what to do.”

“We need to be realistic and see how we can improve for the races that follow. So if the difference to the leaders continues to be large, it is pointless to think that a tenth of a second can be enough to recover,” added Stefano Domenicali.

However, they will make sure that they can maintain their lead over Mercedes to take second place. “We will make a choice after Singapore, but always working not to lose too much ground because we want to fight at least for second place in the Constructor’s Championship.” he said.
