Lewis Hamilton carried the Olympic torch on Monday morning. He set off from St George’s Square in Luton. It was day 52 of the Olympic torch relay.

“I’ve had such a great reception, they made it even more enjoyable,” Hamilton said. “I am so incredibly honoured to have the opportunity to do this, not many people get to do this.”

“I have to thank God every day for the wonderful opportunities and blessings that I am given. I’ve achieved a certain amount in my career and this is another thing that I can put on the list of wonderful experiences.”Hamilton just finished eighth place in the British Grand Prix Sunday, and now lies fourth in the overall Drivers’ standings.
