Red Bull team principal Christian Horner has come out in defense of Ferrari for a test it carried out with Pirelli prior to the Spanish Grand Prix.
With the FIA investigating the tyre test carried out by Mercedes using its race drivers and 2013 car, the FIA had also called on Ferrari to reply to a disciplinary inquiry after it used a 2011 car to complete a similar test, which has now been dismissed.
“Ferrari’s position is different, even if they have used their official reserve driver (Pedro de la Rosa) the car was not its 2013 one,” Horner is quoted by Autosprint.
“The two facts are not even comparable. What do we expect from the FIA after our complaint? That the matter be analysed quickly and fairly. “
He also added that since everyone in F1 is subject to the rules; teams, drivers and even suppliers, Pirelli should not be exempt from any blame in the situation.
