The last race before the summer break, Formula 1 arrives in Hungary this weekend after an eventful last race.
In 1986, Hungary became the location of the first Formula One Grand Prix behind the Iron Curtain. Bernie Ecclestone wanted a race in the USSR, but a Hungarian friend recommended Budapest. They wanted a street circuit similar to the Circuit de Monaco to be built in the Népliget – Budapest's largest park – but the government decided to build a new circuit just outside the city near a major highway. The circuit is normally dusty due to underuse throughout the rest of the year and its sandy soil. As the circuit is in a valley, about 80 percent of it can be seen from any point.
The twisty and bumpy nature of the track makes overtaking difficult, so this would add to a very spectacular race and it remains to be seen what battles result out.
Mercedes
The Mercedes duo arrive in this race with each having something of an advantage. While Rosberg will dwell on the 14 points lead to draw a psychological advantage, Hamilton will surely be charged up to surpass Schumacher as the most successful Hungarian Grand Prix driver. It looks like an uphill battle for the Brit after the qualifiers. So then again a championship battle for P1 is due.
Williams
Williams Martini racing team would most probably be at the seventh sky following their back to back podium finishes in the form of Valtteri. Felipe Massa on the other hand will once again try to avoid the cruel mistress of luck on the very first corner.
Redbull
Redbull's hopes are sure to be high on this track which is less demanding on the engine so they may find an advantage on the tight corners. Vettel will definitely try to imitate last race's success and try to again outrun his team mate. Ricciardo on the other hand will be charged up following applauds from Fernando Alonso.
Ferrari
The tifosi would surely look up to both Kimi and Alonso who have finally found the F14 T to their liking to deliver good results.
Kimi would surely be centre of attraction who looked up to be on a high last race but failed to turn in good result following two separate in-race incidents.
McLaren
McLaren will surely put behind last race's disappointment and once again rely on Magnusson to put in a brilliant drive and help the team defeat Force India in the points tally.
Force India
Last race's top ten finish by both the drivers will propel the team to perform good once again. Nico Hulkenberg has silenced his critics in the last race with his consistent and balanced drive once again and has transferred the pressure on Perez after being outperformed by the Mexican in the last few races.
Lotus
Lotus garnered more attention with their announcement to retain Pastor Maldonado for 2015 while leaving the better performing Grojean's future in doubt. But then again money speaks.
Further down the grid
Toro Roso will be back to the drawing board after Kvyat's fired up retirement that spoiled the Russian's brilliant drive.
Sutil has played down any speculation regarding him being ousted from the team for the 2015 season. While no news regarding Esteban's racing seat for 2015 has made the rounds.
Caterham and Marussia battle will once again round up the grid.
Weather
With 100% chances of rain on race day, Hungary brings unique reasons to turn it into an exciting race.
Starting grid:
With Nico Rosberg getting the pole position and Lewis Hamilton starting 21st on the grid on Sunday, the German is looking strong to extend his lead over his teammate. Sebastian Vettel will start 2nd and is hoping to register his first win of the season. Vettel will be eager to get the better of his teammate Daniel Ricciardo who starts fourth on the grid.
Wiliams’ Valtteri Boltas qualified 3rd and a podium finish on Sunday will be the icing on the cake for the Finnish. His teammate Felipe Massa qualified sixth. Fernando Alonso is the lone Ferrari driver in the top 10 as Kimi Raikkonen dropped to 17th.
Force India’s Nico Hulkenberg and Sergio Perez qualified in 9th and 13th positions respectively.
