Formula E may be in its early days now, but organiser Alejandro Aga feels that the electric open wheel series will one day see top tier F1 teams competing.
“I’m sure teams like Ferrari and Red Bull will be in Formula E one day,” said Agag.
Agag is reportedly in talks with McLaren already. It has also been reported that Williams will be supplying Lithium batteries while McLaren will develop the electric motors and transmission.
Michelin will supply the tyres and Dallara will provide the chassis.
Agag also revealed that many of the former F1 and GP2 drivers will be in the drivers seat although he did not mentioned any names.
He however maintained that Formula E will not compete against F1.
“I’m a big formula one fan, so I hope it never disappears.
Eventually, we would like to be as big as F1, but our focus is different” Agag added.
