The 2011 drivers’ world champion, Sebastian Vettel, claimed the inaugural win in the land of Bollywood and cricket starting from the pole position. Here, we will have a look at inside numbers from Indian grand prix.
Vettel, the only driver on 2011 grid to run entire race distance of the season so far, maintained his record by finishing allotted 60 laps of the Indian grand prix. Vettel, now has completed 1007 laps proposed this season in 17 races with Force India’s Paul di Resta and Fernando Alonso as closest best race finishers with 980 and 972 laps respectively. Vettel’s team-mate Mark Webber has completed 958 laps and stands at fifth behind McLaren’s Jenson Button with 969 laps.
For the teams tally, Red Bull has completed 1965 laps out of possible 2014 laps in seventeen races and is ahead of Force India with 1912 and Ferrari with 1896 laps.
1186 laps were completed at the Indian grand prix out of possible 1440 laps. Only seven drivers from four teams went on to complete entire race distance by finishing 60 laps at the Indian grand prix – Red Bull, McLaren and Mercedes’ drivers finished proposed laps with Alonso from Ferrari.
