The Italian Grand Prix is one of the oldest Formula 1 racing events after the British Grand Prix. The first race was held in 1921, and since 2013, it has been held every year. After the British Grand Prix, the Italian Grand Prix is one of the most successful championship races, having hosted every F1 event since the FIA introduced the championship in 1950. Since its introduction, every race of the Italian Grand Prix has been held at Monza except in 1980, when it was held at Imola.
Considering its history, the Italian Grand Prix incorporated the World Manufacturer Championship from 1925 to 1928. From 1931 to 1932, the event was entitled the European Grand Prix, and the same happened from 1935 to 1938. While talking about its iconic race track, Monza, it was the world’s third largest motor racing track after Brooklands in England and Indianapolis in the United States. The circuit is also known as the temple of speed because of its long straights and high-speed corners. According to the latest contract expansion, the F1 event will take place at Monza until 2031.
