His father is a five-time Grand Prix motorcycle world champion winner. The rising Alpine star started his racing career with karting at nine. Doohan graduated from Junior Formulae in 2018. After finishing as a runner-up, he moved to the F4 British Championship.

In 2021, he got his F3 seat but struggled during his debut season. He failed to score any points. The following season, he moved to Trident and with them, he won the F3 races four times and gained seven podiums. In 2022, he joined F2 and finished sixth in the season. His first F1 experience came with the Alpine F1 team as a reserve driver in the 2024 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
