FIA has confirmed that current president Jean Todt will run for a second term as the president of the motorsport’s governing body.
Todt will rival David Ward in the December vote. Ward, who resigned as the president of the FIA foundation, recently issued a manifesto of changes he wants to make if he is elected.
“We have started something [at the FIA]. It’s like climbing a mountain. We try to go up and up. We’re at 3,000 metres, but there is still some way to go,” said Todt.
Todt who was a former advisor to the Labour party in UK succeeded former president Max Mosley in 2009.
“It is now the FIA community who will decide if they want to elect me or not. Honestly, I am very relaxed on that,” he added.
