Kevin Magnussen

Kevin Jan Magnussen is a Danish racing driver who competes in Formula One for Haas. Magnussen has been a member of the McLaren Young Driver Programme since 2010 and signed with the same in 2014, partnering with Jenson Button. He made his Formula One debut in 2014 at the Australian Grand Prix, finishing second and becoming the highest-finishing debutant since Jacques Villeneuve in 1996. Magnussen has had 185 entries in Formula One with no wins, one pole position, two fastest laps, and one podium. Magnussen replaced Sergio Perez at McLaren for the 2014 season and raced with the number 20, the same number he had on his DAMS car in 2013 while winning the Formula Renault 3.5 championship. In 2015, Magnussen was replaced by Fernando Alonso and became the reserve driver of McLaren. However, he was released at the end of the 2015 Formula One season. In 2016, after many unconfirmed reports, Renault confirmed that Magnussen had joined the team, partnering with Jolyon Palmer. However, Magnussen’s 2016 season was ruined by many incidents including crashes, penalties, red flags, engine failure, and more.

After a stint with Renault in 2016, Magnussen signed a contract with Haas for 2017, partnering with Romain Grosjean and replacing Esteban Gutierrez. After almost seven years with Haas, Magnussen announced ahead of the 2024 Hungarian Grand Prix that he would leave the team at the end of the 2024 season. Magnussen holds the Formula One record for the most career stats without leading a lap. His driving skills are not only limited to Formula One though, as he also competed in the IMSA SportsCar Championship from 2021 to 2022 for Cadillac Chip Ganassi Racing, one round of the IndyCar Series in 2021 for Arrow McLaren, and the infamous 24 Hours of LeMans in 2021 for High-Class Racing.
