Lotus driver Kimi Raikkonen has said that he is confident about getting a strong finish in the Japanese Grand Prix despite spinning out of the track in practice.
“I just pushed a bit too much and spun. There’s no damage or anything. We couldn’t do as many laps as we wanted but it’s not a big deal,” he said.
“It’s been better, more to my liking here – at least today – than the last few races. In one lap that’s a good thing but obviously tomorrow is a new day and it might be a really different story,” he added.
Raikkonen was one among the drivers who lost control of their car in the gusty conditions. But the Finn still managed to register the fourth fastest time in the session. He had earlier spun out on the practice session at Korea but came back strongly to finish second in the race and will be looking to replicate a similar achievement on Sunday at Suzuka.
