Sir Lewis Carl Davidson Hamilton born on January 7, 1985, is a British Formula 1 legend and one of the most successful drivers in the history of this sport. Since 2013, he has been driving for Mercedes, claiming a record-tying seven Formula One World Drivers' Championship titles with Michael Schumacher. Dominance has also seen Hamilton hold the records for the most number of race wins (105), pole positions (104), and podium finishes (201). Hamilton began karting, leading him to the McLaren Young Driver Programme in 1998. Eventually, he joined F1 with McLaren in 2007 and became the first black driver to participate in F1.
