Massa unhappy about Monaco's medical infrastructure

Felipe Massa has come down hard on the medical infrastructure provided by Monaco after the less than mediocre treatment he received for the impact of the crash he incurred earlier this month.

Massa, who crashed twice at this year’s race at Ste Devote, was fortunate to walk away from the mess, injury free.

But according to Massa, the way he was attended to following his crash was absolutely unacceptable compared to the treatments received on the courses of other circuits such as Montreal, where he was involved in another crash.

“It’s not nice to say it, but maybe I was a test driver for the doctors [in Monaco],” he said. “I had two crashes in Monaco and the organisation and situation there was really bad, whereas here [in Canada] it was perfect.

He also pointed out that Monaco would do well to pick up a few tips on patient care and hospitality from Montreal.

While Massa continues to vent out his frustration, another racer, Jenson Button, who was involved in what was one of the worst accidents of his career during the 2003 race in Moncao, admits that Massa might be making this issue a bigger deal that what it is.

“For me, when I had my accident in Monaco, which was ten years ago now, I can’t really remember much – there was so much morphine pumped into my body! But for me it was fine, they took me out of the car, put me in the ambulance and took me straight to hospital so it wasn’t an issue at all.”
