Massa's engineer to leave Ferrari

Smedley in conversation with Massa

Ferrari are not only going to lose Felipe Massa at the end of the season, but also his race engineer Rob Smedley, who will be following the Brazilian’s footsteps.

However, it is not clear if Smedley will follow Massa to his next team or move on to another team for a different role.

Reports suggest that Rob will make a switch to the Williams F1 team and join them in a more senior position than his current Ferrari role. His driver Massa will be looking to switch to Lotus, as they are the only other team with a seat in a car that can surely win races.

Smedley’s messages to Massa are well known, one the more famous one’s being “Felipe baby, Stay cool”. Seven races remain before we this combination possibly part ways.
