Former Formula One champion Mika Hakkinen is happy with the performance of his fellow Finn and protege Valtteri Bottas. The two time champion is managing the 23-year-old Bottas, who made his debut in F1 this season with Williams.
“We are working hard to achieve the best possible situation for Valtteri in many ways. I think his performance this season has been amazing and he is in good hands,” Hakkinen said.
Valtteri has not scored any point so far but the young driver has managed to impress with his skills. Hakkinen, while maintaining that Bottas has done well, said that the lack of a competitive car has been stopping Bottas from securing good results.
“In terms of his results this season, they haven’t come yet but that is because the team hasn’t developed a car to get the top results. They need a little more time,” Hakkinen told Championat.
