F1 will head to the Baku City Circuit this weekend to host the 17th race of the 2024 season and the eighth edition of the Azerbaijan Grand Prix. The event remains one of the most highly anticipated on the calendar due to track characteristics that have helped produce some iconic races in the past decade.
The street circuit boasts 90-degree corners, tight and technical sections that see modern F1 cars go through the old city, and a massive 2km start-finish straight that produces breathtaking overtakes.
The 2024 Azerbaijan Grand Prix has been shifted to mid-September to better manage the F1 calendar. Previously, it was a regular at the beginning of the season. The 2024 edition is a highly anticipated affair, given the close title fight in the driver's race between Max Verstappen and Lando Norris and the constructor's championships this year between four teams.
The Baku City Circuit is at sea level and hasn't seen the interruption of rain ever since the sport started hosting the event in 2016 but the warm track temperature could have a bearing on the efficiency of the cars and tire degradation.
As per Williams F1's official website, below is the weather forecast this weekend for the Azerbaijan Grand Prix:

Daniel Ricciardo speaks about his approach ahead of the Azerbaijan Grand Prix
Visa Cash App RB driver Daniel Ricciardo stated that he would approach the remaining eight races and three Sprints as 'important' for his career.
Ahead of the Azerbaijan Grand Prix this weekend, as per PitPass, the Aussie said:
"It needs to be the mindset. If I feel like I'm softening that, then I need to kind of shake myself a little bit and make sure I'm not. It is still very important, but I also think I am still learning, which is great and I think that mindset is a much better one for me."
"When there's a bit on the line when that pressure is a little bit higher, it in a way kind of increases that spark in me and stops me from feeling a little bit, maybe relaxed or whatever you want to say. I've just got to make sure that I still, and I think this is still the case... these are very important races," he added.
Ricciardo would hope for consistent performances that can yield them points for the remainder of the season. The eight-time race winner has only scored 12 points in the 16 races and three Sprints this season and has been trailing his teammate Yuki Tsunoda by 10 points in the standings.
