F1 will return to on-track action at the Dutch Grand Prix this weekend after a three-week-long summer break followed the Belgian GP last month. It had been an exhilarating first half as we saw seven different race winners from four different teams in the first 14 races and three sprints in the 2024 season.
Heading into the Dutch Grand Prix this weekend for a fourth consecutive year in Zandvoort, there is a sense of unpredictability over the race, compared to the previous three editions where Max Verstappen and Red Bull dominated the weekend.
Fans thus might get to witness mixed race conditions, similar to the Belgian GP, in Zandvoort which would further spice up the weekend. As per Williams' official website, the weather forecast for the 2024 Dutch Grand Prix is as follows:
FRIDAY - FP1 AND FP2
Forecast: Light rain throughout the day with dry conditions in the evening.
Temperature: 22C / 72F
Chance of precipitation: 55%
SATURDAY - FP3 AND QUALIFYING
Forecast: Scattered showers across the two sessions with a possible wet qualifying.
Temperature: 20C / 68F
Chance of precipitation: 65%
SUNDAY - RACE
Forecast: A dry race on Sunday with sunny intervals.
Highest temperature: 19C / 66F
Chance of precipitation: 15%
McLaren F1 duo previews the Dutch Grand Prix this weekend
McLaren F1 driver Lando Norris stated that he was excited to return to racing action this weekend after a three week-long summer break.
As per PitPass, the 24-year-old said:
"I had a great time over summer break. It's always good to take some time off and focus on spending time with family and friends. I feel refreshed and ready for the final 10 races of the year. I'm looking forward to the Dutch Grand Prix.
"It's a good race to start the second half of the season. There are always a lot of fans in the crowd who bring a great atmosphere to be a part of. It's also a fun circuit to drive. Hopefully, we can continue where we left off and continue bringing the fight for wins and podiums."
Norris's teammate Oscar Piastri was also looking forward to the return to racing in Zandvoort after finishing the final two races before summer break on a high. He added:
"I'm excited to get back on track. It was great to take my mind off racing and relax, but I'm now ready to get back into action and take on the second half of the season.
"I'm looking forward to getting back in the car in Zandvoort as it's always a good race weekend, especially with cool characteristics like the steep banking. I'll be working hard to keep on improving my position in the championship."
McLaren F1 had arguably the most well-rounded first half of the season and will be keen to continue their performance levels and results at the Dutch Grand Prix this weekend.
