F1 will head to the Hungaroring track in Budapest to host the 13th race of the 2024 season in the form of the Hungarian Grand Prix this weekend. The track has been pivotal across the years in giving an overview of the pecking order of the teams at the midway points of an F1 season.
Despite being known as 'Monaco without walls', the track layout features some medium-speed corners along with a couple of opportunities to overtake, unlike the track in the principality.
Heading into the 2024 edition, the importance of the race weekend at the Hungaroring has gone up two-folds as the sport is arguably its most competitive since the 2021 season, with four teams in contention to fight for wins in the races.
As per Williams F1's official website, below is the weather forecast for the 2024 Hungarian Grand Prix this weekend:

Mercedes F1 director chimes in on their chances to win at the Hungarian Grand Prix
Mercedes F1 Technical Director James Allison stated that the Hungarian Grand Prix was a 'test' for the W15 as they have been coming off two consecutive race wins in Austria and Silverstone.
While appearing on the F1 Nations podcast, Allision spoke about their chances on a hot and high downforce track like the Hungaroring. He said:
“We certainly don’t think we won the last one, let’s go and win the next one. It almost makes you a bit more nervous that maintaining that performance we had in Silverstone is going to be very difficult. If you look at what is the big difference for Hungary is probably this is the test of whether or not we have got on top of our long-run performance in hot conditions."
"That track [Hungary] throws up different demands, we can simulate some of those problems, we know the type of issues that it will throw our way and we’ll just put up effort into the preparation side and making sure that we can start with the best set-up that we can and how do we develop it from there.” he added.
Mercedes have been the team to beat at the Hungaroring track in the qualifying session as they have claimed every single pole position since Max Verstappen's 2019 pole lap.
Even in the first two years of the new aero regulations where they were uncompetitive as compared to their rivals, both George Russell and Lewis Hamilton took pole position for the Hungarian Grand Prix in 2022 and 2023 respectively.
