F1 will turn to Mexico this weekend to host the second part of the triple-header and the 2024 edition of the Mexico City Grand Prix. The sport has been racing in Mexico since the 2015 season and has raced here every year ever since apart from 2020 when it did not travel to the North American continent due to Covid-19 restrictions.
The weekend could prove critical in terms of both championships, given Ferrari's unpredicted success at the Circuit of the Americas last weekend. They took home maximum points and finished 1-2, with Charles Leclerc leading Carlos Sainz.
However, there are expectations that the tide might swing towards Red Bull and Max Verstappen given their prowess at the track, having won three previous editions at the Mexico City Grand Prix. But the weather will play its part as well given the track's high altitude.
As per Weather.com, below is the weather forecast for the Mexico City Grand Prix this weekend:

Saturday - FP3 and Qualifying

Sunday - Race

Sergio Perez deny retirement reports ahead of the Mexico City Grand Prix
Red Bull driver Sergio Perez stated that he was confident that he would be in the sport next year amidst reports of him retiring from F1 after his home race at the Mexico City Grand Prix.
Speaking with F1.com in Austin, Texas, the six-time race winner reflected:
“Especially back in Mexico, with the Mexican Grand Prix coming up, I didn’t want my fans to be misled into false information. I just want to make it clear that I 100% will be here next year; I have a contract and I will fulfil it, and that’s not in my mind. In my mind is to sort out the issues that we have in the car.”
On track after finishing P7 at the US Grand Prix, Red Bull team principal Christian Horner urged Perez to pick up the pace to aid them in the Constructor's Championship against Ferrari and McLaren. He said (via GPBlog):
"Ferrari, again, congratulations to them this weekend. They've been very, very strong. They've got two drivers that are competing at the front. McLaren likewise, their drivers, there's not a big deficit between them. So that's where we really need for the constructors to have Checo come into play."
"Hopefully, with the support he will receive in Mexico, it will give him that boost. Obviously, when you qualify out of position, you lose so much time coming through tail-end cars in the top ten that you've then lost contact with the rest of the race," Horner added.
Sergio Perez has previously claimed two podiums in 2021 and 2022 at the Mexico City Grand Prix but failed to finish last year after a Lap 1 collision with Charles Leclerc.
