The 2024 F1 Singapore GP is round the corner after a thrilling Azerbaijan GP. Several teams have once again brought new upgrade packages to the street race; however, most of them are smaller in size.
At the Azerbaijan GP, there were only three teams: Red Bull, Aston Martin, and RB, who brought new parts to improve their cars. Some of the more extensive upgrade packages were brought by teams back in the Italian GP. As the 2024 F1 season gradually approaches its end, teams are casting their focus towards 2025's car development.
Here is the list of all the new parts brought by every team for the Singapore GP.
List of upgrades brought by teams for the 2024 F1 Singapore GP
Red Bull
- Front Corner (Circuit Specific)
Red Bull have continued to struggle at the top of the grid as other teams have closed the gap to them in the championship. They are no longer leading the constructors' championship and are chasing McLaren from second place.
For the Singapore GP, they brought a new larger front brake duct to achieve better cooling while racing in the hot and humid weather at the Marina Bay circuit.
McLaren
- Beam Wing (Circuit Specific)
McLaren currently leads the constructors' championship after Oscar Piastri won the Azerbaijan GP. They are in an intense title battle with Red Bull after the latter dominated F1 in the 2022 and 2023 seasons. Ever since the latter stages of 2023, the British team has continued to bring massive upgrades that allowed them to rise to the top.
For the Singapore GP, they brought a higher downforce beam wing particularly to fit the nature of the street track. The wing is designed to increase the overall aerodynamic load on certain parts of the car.
Ferrari
- Front Wing (Performance)
Ferrari brought a major upgrade package to Monza and won their home race with Charles Leclerc. They managed to bounce back after a spell of poor performances in the middle of the season.
For the race at Singapore, they brought a new front wing with revised third and fourth elements of the wing to improve the downstream airflow and wider polar range.
Aston Martin
- Front Wing (Circuit Specific)
Aston Martin is currently struggling to keep up with the top teams since early 2023 when the team was still considered one of the fastest on the grid. They are currently fifth in the standings with only 82 points.
For the Singapore GP, they brought a new front wing with an aggressive flap that increases the load of the wing and balances it with the rear wing's level. This balance was created particularly for the Marina Bay circuit.
Williams
- Front Suspension (Performance)
Williams continued to struggle in the 2024 F1 season with Alex Albon and Logan Sargeant. Recently, however, they removed Sargeant and made their junior driver, Franco Colapinto, an interim permanent driver for the rest of the season. After 2024, Colapinto will step down to make space for Ferrari's Carlos Sainz to arrive. Despite their struggles, they had a great race in Azerbaijan, where both Albon and Colapinto collected points for the team.
For the Singapore GP, the British team brought a new front suspension with new wishbones, track rods, pushrod, brake ducts, boot panels, and more. This brand-new suspension aims to change the nature of airflow to increase local load.
Visa Cash App RB
- Front Wing (Circuit Specific)
RB is currently fighting in the midfield with the likes of Aston Martin and Haas. The team currently sits in sixth place in the table with 34 points.
The Faenza-based team brought a new front wing to Singapore that has an updated camber and chord flap. Both components are larger to increase the amount of airflow load and balance it to the rear wing, specifically for the street track.
Alpine
- Rear Wing (Performance)
Alpine started their 2024 F1 season on the back foot as they created a brand new platform for their future cars and tried to understand its core concepts. As of now, they continue to struggle on the grid as they are in ninth place in the constructors with only 13 points.
For the Singapore GP, they have produced a reprofiled rear wing to increase the load and downforce specifically for the Marina Bay track.
