After a chaotic yet thrilling Canadian GP, the F1 circus moves back to Europe for the 2024 F1 Spanish GP. The teams and drivers have already completed the first two practice sessions at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.

The drastic weather change during the Canadian GP presented difficulties for the drivers and teams. The main race was thrilling to witness since it started in wet conditions and dried up over time. This forced teams to come up with inventive pit-stop tactics. McLaren's Lando Norris, Mercedes' George Russell, and Red Bull's Max Verstappen were engaged in a race for the top spot.

In the end, the reigning world champion won the race, extending his advantage in the 2024 F1 drivers' championship table.

Coming into Spain, several other drivers apart from Verstappen looked strong. In the first practice session, Lando Norris topped the timing sheets while Verstappen secured second place. In the second practice session, it was Lewis Hamilton who clocked the fastest lap, while the Red Bull star was down in fifth.

Here is everything to know about the qualifying session coming up on Saturday, June 22, 2024.
