The 2024 F1 Spanish GP will take place on June 23, 2024. All the teams and drivers have already participated in three practice sessions and the qualifying session on Friday and Saturday. The main event will start soon now.

The Grand Prix takes place in Barcelona, at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. Almost all drivers and teams know every inch of this track by heart since many pre-season tests have taken place on it in the past. Though many F1 fans have criticized the track and the race as being quite boring, the Grand Prix can in fact prove to be a thriller this year.

Both Mercedes and McLaren have looked impressive on the track right from Friday, challenging Max Verstappen's lap times though the weekend so far. Three different drivers from three different teams have topped the timing sheets in the three practice sessions.

The qualifying session was also a treat as Lando Norris clocked the fastest lap, defeating Max Verstappen's time by +0.020 seconds and taking pole position for the race. Other top drivers were also extremely close in terms of raw qualifying pace.

Despite the track being the home ground for several pre-season tests, many fans will be tuning in to watch the Spanish GP simply because of the tight competition at the top. It will therefore be televised on numerous sports TV networks. The following list of well-known sports networks that will showcase the race:

  • UK - Sky Sports, Channel 4
  • USA - ESPN, ESPN Deportes
  • India - FanCode, F1TV
  • Australia - Fox Sports
  • Spain - DAZN

F1 fans can check their local TV schedules to find out which TV stations will show the race sessions in their area.

F1 itself offers an online streaming service known as F1 TV. Every Grand Prix is live-streamed on the website and mobile app, including practice and qualifying. F1 TV is a premium service that allows fans to witness every camera onboard each of the 20 cars, as well as a live track map.

Starting grid for the 2024 F1 Spanish GP

The qualifying session for the 2024 F1 Spanish GP was thrilling to witness, where Lando Norris beat Max Verstappen's time at the very last minute of Q3. The Mercedes drivers also had a great qualifying session, with Lewis Hamilton securing P3 and George Russell starting from P4.

The Ferrari drivers were slightly off the pace at Barcelona. Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz secured P5 and P6 respectively.

After a great qualifying session in Canada, RB's on-track performance in Spain plummeted as both drivers were knocked out in Q1. On the other hand, Alpine found some decent pace during qualifying, with both Pierre Gasly and Esteban Ocon securing places in the top 10.
