F1 design guru Adrian Newey has accepted a $105 million move to Ferrari for 3 years according to Business F1 magazine. Newey, who announced his exit from Red Bull a few months ago is among the most wanted men in Formula 1. The British aero designer was heavily linked to Ferrari after he announced his exit, and it seems that the move has finally materialized, as per reports.

Newey joined Red Bull in 2006 and has guided the team to win seven drivers titles and six constructor's championships. The 65-year-old has also won the WCC five times with Williams and a sole championship with McLaren.

Adrian Newey will reportedly start working in 2025, just a year before the new regulations come into play in 2026. The deal is supposedly confirmed and BusinessF1 reports that Newey is "staying calm and delaying the official announcement".

The Red Bull senior figure announced his departure from the team last month amidst the ongoing Civil War. McLaren boss Zak Brown also described the work environment in the Austrian camp as "toxic" after the Canadian Grand Prix.

Adrian Newey previously stated he rejected Ferrari F1 move 3 times in the past

Not many people would reject the chance to work in the most successful F1 team in the world. However, Adrian Newey rejected the Scuderia team's offer not once, not twice, but three times in the past.

Talking on F1's Beyond the Grid podcast, Newey said:

“Ferrari approached me in my IndyCar days, which probably doesn’t count, then ’93 and famously in 2014. The ’93 one was very tempting.”

He added:

“My discussions in 2013 with Ferrari were purely out of frustration. I really didn’t want to leave but we were in this position where Renault hadn’t produced a competitive turbo hybrid engine."

Newey also accepted there was an "emotional regret" of rejecting the call to join the Prancing Horse. In the same podcast, the decorated designer also expressed his regret of not having worked with Fernando Alonso and Lewis Hamilton.

The move to Ferrari will offer him the chance to work with the seven-time champion, who announced he was switching teams from Mercedes to Ferrari in February.

Hamilton himself has expressed his desire to work with Adrian Newey several times this season. Newey's move to Ferrari will certainly turn them into a force to be reckoned with.

Can Adrian Newey help Lewis Hamilton win his 8th F1 championship, and Ferrari’s first title since 2008?
