As per the latest developments, organizers of the Singapore GP made a huge adjustment to the Marina Bay Circuit. Reports say that the Singapore City track will have an additional DRS zone for the race, making it an unprecedented four-DRS zone track.

Following an eventful race in Azerbaijan, Formula 1 is all set to move to Singapore for the 18th race of the 2024 season. This Asian leg of the race is a much-anticipated and hyped one because of its nightlife around Marina Bay.

Reports say that changes have already been introduced to the track in 2023, but coming into 2024, they have resurfaced the track ahead of the Singapore GP. They replaced the Turn 16 to 19 with a 400-meter-long straight and resurfaced Turns 3, 9, 10, 12, 14, and 17.

The newly introduced DRS zone will sit between turns 14 and 16, and as per experts, this will boost overtaking during the race. With the newly added DRS zone, the Marina Bay Circuit now has the most number of zones alongside the Albert Park Circuit in Melbourne, Australia.

The Singapore GP track is a street circuit around Marina Bay, Singapore. It is a 3.07-mile track (4.940 kilometers) that encompasses the Downtown Core and Kallang parts of the region.

The Marina Bay Circuit is a FIA Grade 1 circuit and has over 90,000 crowd capacity. The track was opened back in 2008, and since then it has become famous for having at least one safety car deployment every time F1 raced here in Singapore.

McLaren's resurgence against Red Bull in 2024 lit up the season as the defending champions are right up against the Papayas in the Constructors' championship. While Lando Norris and Co. are strong favorites to clinch the 2024 title, Max Verstappen expects his team to fight back.

Red Bull currently trails McLaren by 20 points after the British team snatched the Constructors' championship lead in the Azerbaijan GP. They have 456 points after 17 races, compared to Mclaren's 476 points.

Speaking about this ahead of the Singapore GP, Verstappen said during a media interaction:

"What can I do for Singapore? Well, we're trying to optimize the set-up to understand what we did wrong here. I don't think it's going to be our best track, naturally, but we'll see. It might surprise us."
"It's never nice to see [McLaren leading the constructors' standings]. But the fight is not over yet. We'll try to get that back," added the Red Bull star.

Max Verstappen, on the other hand, has a formidable lead over Lando Norris in the Drivers' championship. He currently has 313 points, compared to Norris' 254 at the end of 17 races and three Sprints.
