F1 fans were left mystified after Ferrari pair, Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz, passed snide comments towards each other after the Spanish GP. The duo were seen fighting for P5 in the main race on Sunday as they tried to move ahead and challenge their rivals.

The Monegasque driver found himself being aggressively attacked by the home hero on the track and was passed by him on turn one in a slightly dangerous manner. The Spanish driver made contact with his teammate, causing a little bit of damage to Leclerc's car and leaving him reeling.

In his post-race interview with F1.com, Charles Leclerc took a dig at Carlos Sainz for the move and said:

“It’s a bit of a shame but anyway we will speak internally, it’s not a big deal, I understand it’s his home race and a very important moment of his career and he wanted to do something spectacular, and I probably wasn’t the right person to do that with.”

Sainz didn't take the comments directed at him lying down and retaliated by replying:

“I think too many times he complains after a race about something. Obviously hot, he might think that."

F1 fans took to social media to give their reactions to the Ferrari drivers going at each other on X, with some left confused with the targeted comments, saying:

"Bro, what’s going on in the Ferrari garage? These boys are spewing shots at each other today, damn," said a fan.

Another fan said:

"It’s too many times DURING the race that Carlos complains about something."

Another claimed:

"This is ridiculous now from the 2 of them hahaha."
"Team meltdown...," wrote another fan.
"Because he has something to complain about when you’re his teammate!!!!!"

Charles Leclerc analyzes his P5 at the Spanish GP

Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc stated that the main race on Sunday was a "tight" one for him as he finished just a couple of tenths behind Mercedes driver George Russell while battling for P4.

As per F1.com, the 26-year-old said:

"It was tight today and we were just a lap short of fighting for P4, but our competitors were still ahead in terms of pace. Regarding our strategy, I think we did well to offset ourselves from the cars around us.
"We maybe lost some time between our two cars at the beginning of the race, but going forward we will focus on our race pace extracting the maximum from our package at the next race."

After finishing P5, his lowest grid slot of the year, Charles Leclerc also lost his P2 in the Driver's Championship to Lando Norris. He now trails Norris by two points, having scored 148 points in ten races and two Sprints so far.
