Former Ferrari driver Carlos Sainz shared words of support for his father earlier today when he reposted his father's health update. Carlos Sainz Sr. recently competed in the Dakar rally, where he had an accident during the race that caused some pain in his back.

Taking to his social media, Sainz Sr. shared an update that said that he had received a full check-up after his return to Madrid, and was able to confirm that he has had no injuries.

Sainz Sr.'s car rolled and landed on its roof, causing it to be withdrawn from the contest due to the roll cage being damaged beyond the permitted FIA limit. Sainz Sr. had also suffered a cracked vertebra in an accident during the Dakar Rally in 2023 but returned the later year and won the title.

Resharing his father's social media post, Carlos Sainz added a four-word reaction to the good news:

The 62-year-old rally driver has achieved four title wins in the car category at the Dakar event, securing victories in 2010, 2018, 2020, and 2024. He also achieved all four of his wins with four different car manufacturers, with his title win in 2024 making him the oldest-ever winner.

Meanwhile, the younger Sainz will be driving for Williams this 2025 F1 season after being released by Ferrari, who will pair up Lewis Hamilton and Charles LeClerc.

Sainz has already got a chance behind the wheel of the FW46 in Abu Dhabi during the post-season Abu Dhabi test. The 30-year-old completed 60 laps with a fastest time of 1:24.435. In his fourth season with Ferrari this past year, Sainz ended his stint with the Maranello-based outfit after scoring four wins and twenty-nine podiums.

The former Ferrari driver and his father got the chance to drive the F1-75, the 2022 car with which Sainz secured his first victory with the team at Silverstone. The two drove the car in a testing session at the Fiorano circuit, a week after Sainz's first rounds in the Williams' car.

On December 30, 2024, the 30-year-old driver took to his Instagram handle to share how it felt to see his father drive his maiden winning car:

"This was one for the books! Watching my dad get behind the wheel of an F1 car was unforgettable."

Carlos Sainz completed his 2024 season 5th place in the standings with 290 points. This is the third time that he has achieved this position in the drivers' championship, with 5th place finishes coming in 2021 and 2022.
