Carlos Sainz and Fernando Alonso were recently seen celebrating Spain's National Football team's victory over France in the 2024 UEFA Euros semi-finals. Both the Spanish drivers posted the full-time scoreline on their Instagram stories.

Carlos Sainz and Fernando Alonso have always shown support for Spain's National Football team previously. In the 2024 UEFA Euros, the team managed to beat Georgia and Germany in the Round of 16 and quarter-final stages, respectively. The semi-final match they played on July 9, was against France, 2018 FIFA World Cup winners.

France took the lead just nine minutes into the match, with Randal Kolo Muani scoring a header. The goal was assisted by Kylian Mbappé, who lobbed the ball from the right.

Spain equalized the scoreline in the 21st minute as Lamine Yamal sent a screamer towards France's goalpost. Soon after that, Dani Olmo scored another one for Spain that was accidentally deflected into the goal by Jules Koundé.

There were no goals in the second half of the game, which resulted in a 2-1 win for Spain. The team now heads into the 2024 UEFA Euros final that will take place on July 14.

Carlos Sainz tight-lipped about his future in F1 until he made a decision

Carlos Sainz stated that he would not speak about his future in F1 until he decided which team he would join in 2025. Ever since Lewis Hamilton was announced by Ferrari for 2025, the Spaniard has been looking for a new team to jump to. Though several teams like Audi, Williams, and even Alpine have reportedly approached Sainz, the driver has not yet taken a decision and confirmed his move.

Speaking to the media ahead of the British GP, including Sportskeeda, he stated that he prefers not to spill any beans about his future just yet. He went on to explain how he wants to educate himself about the future of each team, which will eventually help him make a decision.

“Yeah, I've decided not to talk anymore about my future until I take the decision. That you guys will be the first ones to know,” Sainz said.

“Yeah, there's a bit of guessing, a bit of luck, a bit of obviously, try to educate yourself on what's happening around in Formula One. What I think about is, again, don't judge the move in a short term or in the next few races or in the next year. Now, I think you always need to see and criticize or analyze a driver's move with perspective in time. Was this the right move for Carlos in five years time or not?” he added.

As of now, Carlos Sainz races for Ferrari and is currently fourth in the drivers' championship table with 146 points.
