Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc shared a clip featuring someone dressed as Santa Claus gliding over a beach on Christmas, along with a funny caption.
It has been a while since the 2024 F1 season came to an end, with Ferrari finishing the championship in second place. As the drivers relax during the off-season, Leclerc shared a video of Santa Claus flying over a beach on Instagram story and wrote that Santa relinquished his reindeers this year.
"Santa Claus gave up on his reindeers, much faster now," Leclerc wrote.
Leclerc commented that Santa Claus was now "much faster" with the jet glider. That was more or less the case with Leclerc and Ferrari, who seemingly progressed well throughout the season.
Although they didn't look very strong at the start, they clinched five victories late on. Ferrari remained a strong contender for the Constructors' World Championship as Red Bull Racing dropped to third, but McLaren snatched the title for the first time since 1998.
The team's developmental trajectory has given Charles Leclerc hope as he looks to a strong start to the 2025 season.
Charles Leclerc expecting strong performance from Ferrari in 2025
The team will undergo major changes, with Carlos Sainz departing and Lewis Hamilton set to replace him. The Briton was racing with Mercedes since 2013 but signed with Ferrari, the move getting announced before the start of the 2024 season.
Moreover, Ferrari was also strong enough to contend for victories in the second half of 2024. These factors motivate Charles Leclerc for the upcoming season. When asked if he would put an end to Max Verstappen's dominance, he responded:
"Yes, I really hope so."
"If we look at our first part of the year, we were nowhere near being in the fight for the Constructors’. Then, the second part of the season was really good, and the team did an incredible job. I think Carlos and I have done a really good job as well together. So, yeah, we ended strong, and I'm sure that next year, we’ll hopefully start as strong as what we have ended this year," he added.
Ferrari have been consistently improving under principal Frederic Vasseur, who arrived in 2023 and has been making major changes, delivering strong performances.
