Red Bull boss Christian Horner has poured cold water on the speculation that the team was skeptical of being portrayed as a villain in the Brad Pitt starrer 'F1' movie. The movie is being made around the story of a Formula 1 driver who's trying to make a comeback. In all of this, one thing that has stood out is Lewis Hamilton's involvement.
The F1 legend has been extensively involved in the production of the movie alongside Pitt. With Red Bull and the British driver more often than not being on the opposite side of the spectrum, there were reports suggesting that concerns were raised over the kind of portrayal the team would have in the movie.
Talking to the media, including Sportskeeda, Red Bull boss Christian Horner has stated that there were no such concerns over the portrayal of the team, and that's something that has never been a talking point either. He said:
"I don't think there was any paranoia about that. We just wanted to voice early on what the perception of the players was going to be."
The 'F1' movie crew has entrenched itself in the paddock in the last couple of years and there has been an effort to understand the sport and present it in the best possible manner.
Red Bull boss backs the Brad Pitt starrer movie to do justice to the sport
Christian Horner, on his part, gave his backing to the movie and said that the kind of content and footage that the movie has been able to capture is going to help the production team do a brilliant job. The production team has seen an entirely new car being made that is used by Brad Pitt and co. during filming and the crew has been at multiple races and worked with the F1 paddock to create the movie.
Giving special props to the director Jerry Bruckheimer, Red Bull's Horner backed the movie to do justice to the sport as he said:
"The movie is going to be really interesting, it is going to put F1 on the big screen and Jerry Bruckheimer and his team have captured some amazing content. They've interwoven it within F1, so imagine the benefit for all of our partners, for the F1 brand, being front and central in cinemas and houses around the world."
He added:
"It is another massive step for Formula 1, and I'm sure they'll do the sport justice in the way that they present it."
The movie's trailer has come out and it is expected to release on June 27th, 2025.
