F1 fans on Tuesday reacted to a strange post on social media. The post claimed that Lando Norris did not travel with Max Verstappen in the latter's private jet for the upcoming Brazilian GP. Fans also assumed that Norris and Verstappen's recent scuffle on track could have been the reason behind them travelling separately.

Verstappen and Norris were involved in multiple on-track battles in the last two races, where the two drivers fought for track positions. Their skirmish did not go unnoticed as Norris received a 5-second time penalty at Austin, while Verstappen received two 10-second time penalties in Mexico City.

Norris is often found traveling in Verstappen's private jet, and the duo, on more than one occasion, regarded each other as best pals in the F1 fraternity. However, things looked different this time around as the drivers traveled from Mexico to Brazil separately.

Fans took note of this development thanks to Norris' recent Instagram story. They also shared an insight on Verstappen. The Dutchman had presumably left the venue early to spend time with his partner, Kelly Piquet, and her family in Brazil.

Below are some reactions taken from micro-blogging site X (formerly Twitter):

A fan wrote snubbing the idea of them flying together, "Doesn’t look like AirMax to me."
"I mean, Max left for Brazil 5 hours after the race, so his definitely not on the air max," another fan wrote.

Another fan pointed out Norris' celebration with Carlos Sainz, which made him leave Mexico later.

"Bro was celebrate with Carlos ??? Max leave 5 hours after the race ??! People looking for drama for nothing."
Another fan reiterated the same, "Yeah, because he was celebrating that P2 with his friend! hope this helps."
"No because max left mexico almost immediately to (most likely) spend time with kelly and her family before going to são paulo... and lando was partying so yano, stop being weird???" another fan wrote.
"Hehehe it definitely isn’t. jumping for joy rn," wrote a fan, sharing their delight.

Besides this, fans also noticed how Lando Norris stayed back to celebrate his Mexico City GP P2 with race winner Carlos Sainz at a restaurant.

Following the Mexico City Grand Prix, Lando Norris closed the gap to Max Verstappen to 47 points. The McLaren driver managed to cut 10 points off the defending champion's lead at the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez.

Norris has four races and two sprints at his disposal to dethrone Verstappen from the top spot. The fact that he has the fastest car on the grid can certainly help his cause.

The Dutchman currently leads the Championship with 362 points to his credit, followed by Norris who has a tally of 315. It will be interesting to see if the three-time world champion can keep his lead intact and claim his fourth consecutive F1 title.
