F1 fans reacted to Lewis Hamilton's recent snowboarding pictures during F1's winter break. The seven-time title champion was spotted in a red Dior skiing gear during his time away from the Grid.
After the 2024 F1 season ended, Hamilton bid a special farewell to Mercedes, leaving the team after 12 years and joining Ferrari in 2025. The 39-year-old visited all the Mercedes and Petronas factories and met the team that worked on the cars he drove to glory.
Following the farewell tour, the seven-time world champion was seen enjoying some time away from F1 in Colorado, where he owns a mansion. He was pictured wearing bright red overalls and goggles from Dior while snowboarding in a stunning snowy valley.
The pictures were taken from the Instagram stories from Hamilton's alt account @indegoblack and later reposted by a fan account on X.
Many F1 fans claimed that Hamilton will now be wearing a lot of red-colored apparel ahead of his Ferrari move.
"Dude is only gonna wear red from here on out," one fan joked.
Another fan praised the seven-time champion's color choice, writing:
"Red suits him very well," another added.
"The year is scarlet red yes," one chimed in.
Since Hamilton was completely covered in Dior's thick winter jacket and hoodie, some fans questioned whether it was really him.
"Are we even sure it's him?" a follower questioned.
"How do we know it’s Lewis," another asked.
Lewis Hamilton posted these pictures on his alternate Instagram account named '@indegoblack' in the form of stories. Hamilton will soon join Ferrari and drive alongside Charles Leclerc in 2025.
Former F1 champion speaks about how Lewis Hamilton will adapt to Ferrari's machine
Speaking to Mirror Sports in an exclusive this week, Former F1 champion Jacques Villeneuve discussed how Lewis Hamilton will adapt in Ferrari. Villeneuve reckons that Hamilton bears a burden of Mercedes' 2024 F1 car because he was involved in its development but it failed to compete with other teams.
The former F1 champion added that this would not be the case in Ferrari, where Hamilton will be offered a brand new machine which he did not help develop. Villeneuve feels it would make it easier for the British driver to settle into the cockpit.
"He needs the right car. He's had no involvement in the development of this Ferrari car whereas he did at Mercedes, and maybe that's why it became tough for him. You could argue it may have been an extra weight for him to carry. At Ferrari, he'll arrive knowing he's had no involvement in the car for 2025," Villeneuve said.
"I think that will make it a little bit easier as he'll have time to adapt and can then make the car his," he added.
Lewis Hamilton experienced the worst season in his entire F1 career in 2024, particularly in terms of position. He only scored 223 points and finished the season in seventh place.
