Mercedes-AMG star driver Lewis Hamilton's partnership with the US-based fashion mogul Tommy Hilfiger has grown stronger over the years. In an interview, the seven-time Formula 1 world champion credited his "big brother" Hilfiger for helping him build his fashion image.
Since his early days in F1, Hamilton has been known for his bold fashion statements, both during Grand Prix weekends and while attending events. However, it was only in 2018 that the iconic British racer's collaboration with Hilfiger began taking shape in the form of the Tommy x Lewis range.
Since then, they have become close friends, with the latter helping the #44 driver change his image as a fashionable personality. In an interview with fashion publication GQ during the Brazilian Grand Prix weekend, Hamilton praised Hilfiger, calling him his "big brother."

"The work that Tommy (Hilfiger) and the team have done by giving opportunities to up-and-coming designers, I think, is really cool. That's one of the best things about Tommy, really. He always creates and opens doors for people, and that's exactly what he did with me. I don't think I would be where I am today in the fashion space without him," Hamilton said.
"I just think it's so special, because you don't get to see that too much with people who are super successful creating opportunities for young people. And with Tommy himself, you just never see him without a smile. I just call him a brother, you know? He's like a big brother, and it's always been like that ever since we first met at the Met Gala. That's just who he is," he added.
