F1 pundit Johnny Herbert recently questioned Martin Brundle and David Croft's future in Sky Sports after Damon Hill departed from the media house. Herbert discussed whether Sky Sports removed Hill or he willingly left the broadcasters.

On November 15, 2024, Hill announced his departure from the British sports channel after 13 years, through a post on his official X account. Following his announcement, the sports broadcasters also published a post about his departure and shared a few words from their director of F1.

After Hill retired from F1 in 1999, he frequently appeared as a commentator on ITV F1 (currently F1 TV) alongside Martin Brundle. In 2012, he was officially signed by Sky Sports to cover the season. Since then, he has been with the broadcasters. Fast forward to 2024, his last race where he worked as a presenter was the Brazilian GP.

Sky Sports also has popular voices like Martin Brundle and David Croft as presenters and official race commentators.

Speaking to FlashscoreUSA.com, former Sky Sports presenter, Johnny Herbert, said that he does not know whether the media giants removed Hill or he left on his own. He added that if Hill was removed, he wondered what would happen to other senior presenters like Brundle and Croft, hinting that they could also be shown the exit door.

“I don’t know whether it was [Hill’s] decision or Sky’s, to be honest. Was it an enjoyment factor? Potentially. I know he got criticism for the Max scenarios and maybe he felt, ‘You know what, I don’t need that.’ There is change going on. If he was pushed, then you wonder what could happen to Martin Brundle and David Croft,” Herbert said, via PlanetF1.

As of now, however, neither Croft, Brundle nor Sky Sports have announced anything about their departure.

Damon Hill's heartfelt post after leaving Sky Sports F1

Damon Hill was the first to announce his departure from the Sky Sports presenters' roster on November 15, 2024. The former F1 world champion wrote a heartfelt message about leaving the media house and praised all the colleagues he worked with in the last 13 years. He also added two pictures of him hosting Sky Sports F1 segments with Martin Brundle and Johnny Herbert.

"Its been a fantastic 13 years with @SkySportsF1 but all good things come to an end. I will miss the most impressive bunch of professionals it has ever been my pleasure to have worked with. Looking forward to new challenges #f1," Hill wrote.

Though Damon Hill wrote that he is looking forward to a new challenge and chapter in his life, he has not officially confirmed anything.
