Fernando Alonso and Carlos Sainz recently congratulated fellow Spaniard, Jorge Martin Almoguera, for winning the 2024 Moto GP world championship. This was Martin's first MotoGP title victory in his racing career.

Like F1, drivers in MotoGP also fight each other to collect as many points in each race and move up the championship table.

This year, Martin had an excellent season where he won three races and numerous podiums. He faced fierce competition from Francesco Bagnaia but was able to win his first world championship after finishing third in the last race in Barcelona that took place on November 17, 2024. He scored a total of 508 points, only 10 points ahead of second-placed Bagnaia.

After the Spaniard MotoGP racer clinched his maiden world championship, both Carlos Sainz and Fernando Alonso posted stories of Jorge Martin, congratulating him for the achievement. While Alonso shared a post from Martin's MotoGP team on his stories, Sainz uploaded a picture with the 2024 MotoGP champion on his stories.

Sainz wrote on his story:

Enormous! What a great season. Congratulations champion."

Previously, both F1 drivers have also been seen congratulating other Spanish sportsmen and sports teams whenever they achieved any milestone in their respective fields. In their own sport, Sainz and Alonso have frequently praised and supported each other as well.

Carlos Sainz praises Fernando Alonso's longevity as the Spaniard reaches a special milestone

Carlos Sainz recently praised Fernando Alonso for his racing career in F1 as the latter reached a massive milestone of the 400th Grand Prix in Mexico this year.

Speaking to Motorsport Week, Sainz explained how bizarre it feels to race alongside Alonso, who was in F1 when he was only nine or 10 years old. The Ferrari driver praised the two-time world champion's grit to keep racing against much younger drivers on the current grid.

“It is crazy to me to think when I was growing up, nine, 10 years old, he was already in F1 and now that I turned 30 myself, he’s still in Formula 1. He’s still here because he wants it and he has so much talent and speed still at his age that he can allow himself to keep choosing about what to do with his future and with his life, which in a competitive field of 19 other very hungry younger drivers, that says a lot from him," Sainz said.

As of now, Fernando Alonso stands in ninth place with 62 points, while Carlos Sainz is in fifth place with 244 points.
