Ferrari Chairman John Elkann has joined Meta's Board of Directors alongside Dana White, President and CEO of UFC, and Charlie Songhurst, a technology investor. This is set to be a major move for the organization.

Meta announced earlier today that they were welcoming these three iconic personalities to their Board of Directors. Their insights are expected to help the company with the upcoming generations of Artificial Intelligence.

John Elkann, CEO of Exor and executive chairman of Ferrari, mentioned that he looks forward to assisting Meta with his vast global experience.

"I am honored to be able to contribute to the future of one of the most significant companies of the 21st century," John Elkann said in a statement. "I look forward to bringing my global experience and long-term perspective to the board as Meta continues to shape and push the next frontiers of innovation and technology."

Facebook's co-founder and Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg delivered a positive outlook on Elkann, White, and Songhurst's admission to the Board of Directors as he expects a new perspective on the future of Artificial Intelligence and wearables. He said:

"Dana, John and Charlie will add a depth of expertise and perspective that will help us tackle the massive opportunities ahead with AI, wearables and the future of human connection."

Meanwhile, Elkann's F1 side's latest entrant, Lewis Hamilton, expressed his excitement at completing one of the biggest driver switches in the sport's history.

Lewis Hamilton had been racing for Mercedes since 2013. He collected six World Championships and record-breaking victories with the team, however, he had suffered in the past three seasons. He remained winless for over 900 days as the team struggled to adapt to the aerodynamic regulations and their competitors.

He used an exit clause from his two-year Mercedes contract as Ferrari signed him. 1st of January marked him officially becoming a driver for the Maranello-based outfit. On the occasion, he shared a post on LinkedIn, mentioning his excitement.

"I could not be more excited for the year ahead. Moving to Scuderia Ferrari, there’s a lot to reflect on. To anyone considering their next move in 2025: embrace the change. Whether you're switching industries, learning a new skill, or even just taking on new challenges, remember that reinvention is powerful," he wrote.

Ferrari finished the Constructors' Championship in second place but had a very strong run in the second half of the 2024 F1 season. They lost the title by a very small margin to McLaren and are hoping to keep the strong momentum heading into the next season.
