Scuderia Ferrari is set to unveil a brand-new livery for the upcoming F1 Miami Grand Prix which will feature two shades of blue.
While Ferrari's start to the 2024 F1 campaign has generated promise among the fans, the team remains miles away from the dominant Red Bull. The latest Chinese Grand Prix left much to be desired from the Italian outfit, as it was the first time in the five races this season that neither Charles Leclerc nor Carlos Sainz could register a podium finish.
As teams look forward to the next round of racing weekend in the United States, the Maranello-based outfit is set to introduce a special livery ahead of the 2024 F1 Miami GP next month. Shifting from the iconic red of Scuderia, Ferrari's one-off livery for the United States will feature tints of blue.
This comes in a bid for the team to give a nod to its American heritage as the Italian outfit celebrates its 70th anniversary in the United States marketplace. While the launch date is yet to be revealed, the special livery will be rolled out in Florida, just in time for the Miami Grand Prix.
In the past, Ferrari has run a special white and blue livery in the 1964 season. Over disagreements with the Italian motorsport association, the Prancing Horse decided to run with the blue and white colors, which were the national racing colors of the United States. John Surtees won the F1 championship that season.
Ferrari to partner with technology giant Hewlett Packard
Ever since its decision to terminate the contract with Mission Winnow over the latter's association with tobacco-producing brands, the Italian team has run on the grid without a sponsor.
However, according to the latest report from Sports Business, the Maranello-based outfit might finally be exploring its options to find a brand-new sponsor after over two years. Hewlett Packard (HP), the American IT company, is reported to emerge as the team's title sponsor in the next season, i.e., 2025.
The 2025 campaign is crucial for Ferrari over multiple fronts. With the Italian team penning a blockbuster deal with F1 icon and seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton for the next season, a hefty sponsorship deal might provide the much-needed financial boost for the motorsport giant.
The report further suggests that the proposed deal's annual value rivals that of Red Bull's, making it one of the most substantial sponsorships in F1 history.
