Former Ferrari driver Jean Alesi recently posted a hilarious meme regarding Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc after their intense battle at the Spanish GP. The Ferrari drivers also had a heated conversation after the race about their tussle.

In the Spanish GP, Sainz attempted to pass Leclerc in Turn 1 on Lap 3 of 66 from the outside line. Leclerc tried to defend against his teammate and their wheels touched, forcing Sainz off the track in Turn 2. Right after getting out of their cars after the Spanish GP, the two were seen arguing in Parc Ferme itself.

After the race, Leclerc explained that the team had prioritized saving tires in the first stint of the race, something that Sainz was not doing while overtaking him. Sainz argued that since he had a new soft tire, he wanted to make use of it as much as possible to overtake Mercedes drivers who were on used soft tires (via Sky Sports):

"Honestly at this point of the season, I don’t know, I was on the attack. We were on a new soft, Mercedes were on a used soft and we had to go on the attack in the first laps when you are on a new tire and try to pass them like we said even before the race,” Sainz said.

A few days after the race, former Ferrari driver Jean Alesi has posted a humorous meme about Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc. The meme has a picture of three individuals shaking hands with each other. However, the faces are swapped to depict those of Sainz, Leclerc and Alesi. The caption reads:

"Peace no war. Forza Ferrari."

Carlos Sainz took a jibe at Charles Leclerc after their tussle at the Spanish GP

Carlos Sainz blasted Charles Leclerc after their on-track battle at the 2024 F1 Spanish GP.

Speaking to Sky Sports after the race, Sainz said that Leclerc complains too much about things after every single Grand Prix.

“I think too many times he complains after a race about something. Obviously hot, he might think that (...) I passed Charles because I don’t know if he did a mistake or he was managing a bit too much,” Sainz said.

After the Spanish GP, Charles Leclerc is in third place with 148 points while Carlos Sainz is in fourth place with 116 points.
