F1 photographer Xavier Gazquez shared a moment with Max Verstappen, Lando Norris, and Oscar Piastri. This was shared on the first day of the 2024 F1 British Grand Prix.
Gazquez, popularly known as F1's 'technical photographer,' shared a behind-the-scenes photograph during the 2024 British GP. He was seen with the three drivers in what looked to be a picture taken in rather a hurry. However, the group seemed to have a better relationship regardless. He captioned it:
"Friends forever😂😂"
Although both Max Verstappen and Lando Norris share a good bond as friends off the track, they have been fighting quite a battle during the races recently. In Austria last week, the two shared a close battle in the final stages of the race. It ultimately resulted in a collision and they took each other out of contention for the victory.
Regardless, McLaren's recent development has seemingly made them one of the fastest teams on the grid. However, Verstappen took on the challenge well and managed to win other races in Canada and Spain. He is also leading the driver's world championship. He recently spoke about the battle the two drivers shared.
"We actually really enjoyed our battle": Max Verstappen opens up about battling with Lando Norris in Austria
The close battle fought for multiple laps in Spielberg did not end well for both drivers. While they were battling for the win, both Max Verstappen and Lando Norris collided on lap 64 of 70. The latter retired from the race while Verstappen carried on to finish P5 with a 10-second penalty.
Despite the consequences, Verstappen revealed that he had a conversation with Norris and he claimed to "really enjoy" the fight. He stated that the McLaren driver felt the same.
"To me, the only thing that I cared about is of course maintaining my relationship with Lando, because we are great friends," F1 quoted Max.
"After the race I said we have to just let things cool down, because emotions run high. We immediately spoke on Monday and I think we came to the conclusion that we actually really enjoyed our battle," he claimed. "We were both of course… We looked at the incident and it was such a silly, little touch that had of course great consequences for both of us, and naturally a bit more for Lando with how the puncture then evolved."
The first two practice sessions at Silverstone have looked good for McLaren as they topped the charts with Lando Norris setting a 1:26.549 benchmark in FP2.
