George Russell recently received a humorous jibe from one of Max Verstappen's eSports team Redline's sim drivers, Gianni Vecchio. The comment was about being underweight, which was a connection to Russell's disqualification from the Belgian GP due to his car being underweight.

The Belgian GP was a thrilling watch, where Russell drove a brilliant race with just one pitstop and won the race by keeping Lewis Hamilton and Oscar Piastri at bay. Russell wholeheartedly celebrated the podium win and received the trophy, however, he was not allowed to keep the race win for long.

After the FIA learned that Russell's car was underweight by 1.5 kilos according to regulations, the British driver was disqualified from the race. The win was given to second-placed finisher Hamilton.

A few days after the race and into the summer break, Verstappen was sim-racing with his eSports team, Redline. While they were live on Twitch, Verstappen was seen eating a lot of chocolates. He pointed it out, adding that though it was "very bad", he could indulge himself since it was summer break.

"Oh my god, I'm inhaling these chocolates like...it's very bad. Oh well, it's the holidays!" Verstappen said.

A few members of his eSports team responded, including the 26-year-old sim racer Vecchio. The Italian joked that there is no minimum weight, and also directed a humorous jab at Russell.

"There is no minimum weight, right George Russell?" Vecchio joked.

Members of the Redline team could be heard chuckling for a bit before continuing to watch and participate in the virtual race again.

Speaking to F1.com, the Mercedes driver shared his dejection at being removed from the final race standings. He then delineated how his one-stop strategy and tire life worked well for him in the final stint of the race.

"It is heartbreaking to be disqualified from today’s race. It had been an unbelievable Grand Prix for us to make the one-stop strategy work. In what turned out to be my final stint, the tires just kept getting better and better. I was nursing them in the early stages and as we went further, I became more and more convinced we could get to the end on them," Russell said.

He added that despite being disqualified, he was happy to cross the finish line before anyone else. Russell also congratulated his teammate Lewis Hamilton for inheriting the race victory.

"It was a risk worth taking and it looked like it had paid off. Despite the disqualification, I am of course proud to have crossed the line first. It is also good that the team was still able to take the victory with Lewis. Whilst I’m incredibly disappointed, I know we will bounce back stronger after the summer break, starting in Zandvoort," he added.

After the Belgian GP, Russell is in eighth place in the drivers' championship with 116 points, while Hamilton is in sixth place with 150 points.
