Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc said he was heartbroken to see the images of the devastation caused by the wildfires in Los Angeles in the United States. The Monegasque driver, who resides in Monaco, is often seen spending his off-season in North America including the USA and Mexico.
LA has been experiencing havoc caused by the wildfires which have affected the areas of Hollywood Hills, Pacific Palisades and several other posh areas. The visuals of the homes burning have gone viral on social media with multiple images and videos being shared. The devastation has forced thousands of people to evacuate their homes and flee from the concerned areas.
On his Instagram Story, Leclerc expressed his sadness over the natural disaster and called Los Angeles "one of his favorite cities", writing:
"Heartbreaking scenes to see what's happening to one of my favorite cities. Sending strength and love to everyone in Los Angeles. Please stay safe."
Charles Leclerc signs with Puma as their global ambassador
Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc has signed with Puma as its global ambassador as the latter solidifies its bond with Ferrari. The German brand has been associated with the most famous F1 team since 2011 as their clothing partners.
On its official website, Puma described the partnership as a unique blend of Leclerc's on-track prowess and his off-track fashion sense. The brand wrote of the collaboration:
“We are more than excited to welcome Charles to the PUMA family. His unique blend of being a professional athlete in Formula One and a fashion enthusiast off the track makes him a perfect fit for our brand. Charles will not only serve as a motorsport ambassador but he will also play a vital role in various projects and initiatives that extend beyond the racetrack."
Leclerc also expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership and said he looked up to several Puma athletes in his younger years, adding:
"I am very happy being a member of the Puma family. There are so many iconic Puma athletes that I looked up to when I was younger. Now to be a part of that same family is a special moment for me. Puma is the perfect match to support me in my journey to consistently improve as an athlete by supplying me with their latest designs and via the support of Puma athletes and teams."
The Monegasque driver is also partnered with Richard Mille, RayBan, and Giorgio Armani along with several other fashion brands that he endorses from time to time.
