Formula 1's aero design guru Adrian Newey is set to join Aston Martin in 2025. The British engineer will earn a massive paycheck from the Lawrence Stroll-owned team, as reported by ESPN F1 on social media.

With 12 championship-winning race cars under his belt, Newey is one of the most successful designers in the history of Formula 1. His creations have helped the likes of Nigel Mansell, Damon Hill, Jacques Villeneuve, Mika Hakkinen, Sebastian Vettel, and Max Verstappen secure Drivers' championships. Some of his iconic models were the 1992 Williams FW14B, 1998 McLaren MP4/13, and 2023 Red Bull Racing RB19, which dominated in their respective seasons.

Now, ahead of joining the Silverstone-based British outfit, ESPN F1 has revealed Newey's reported salary on their X page. As per the American media house, Newey is set to earn £3,434 per hour with Aston Martin.

"Definitely the team of the future" - Fernando Alonso describes Aston Martin, after Adrian Newey's arrival

Aston Martin has roped in Red Bull Racing's chief designer Adrian Newey for the 2025 F1 season. The arrival of the aero wizard at the Silverstone-based outfit has got 2x Formula 1 world champion Fernando Alonso excited for the team's future.

Since the arrival of Alonso in 2023, the Lawrence Stroll-owned team has managed to secure multiple podium finishes. With Newey joining the squad, the 43-year-old Spanish driver is now feeling positive about the team's development as a future title-winning contender. He spoke about the same during the media announcement.

“I think [it’s] an incredible day for the team. Lawrence’s vision is taking shape with this [new] building, with Adrian, with [future engine partner] Honda, with [strategic fuel partner] Aramco, with a new wind tunnel… Definitely the team of the future, I would say. For me, it’s going to be an incredible opportunity, professionally, to work with Adrian and to keep wearing this green colour, which I’m very proud to be part of," Alonso said.

Aston Martin's partnership with the British aero wizard is set to begin in March 2025. Newey's arrival as well as 2026 regulation changes will likely push the team into contention for the championship.
