David Coulthard opened up about an unusual story from his Red Bull days when he had to shower with Mark Webber. The former Red Bull driver stated that he once showered in the Red Bull hospitality but had to share the space with Coulthard as there was only one working shower.

Webber sat with Coulthard, Max Verstappen, Daniel Ricciardo and Christian Klein to take part in the "Talking Bull" podcast recently filmed during the Goodwood Festival of Speed, hosted by Nikola Hume and sponsored by Red Bull Racing.

The Red Bull heavyweights were discussing their journey with the Austrian team. At one point in the podcast, Webber revealed how he shared one of the most memorable moments of his life in the shower. He stated:

"Before we drove the car, Red Bull offered a shower, which was really cool in the hospitality. We only had one. So, DC and I had to shower together… So, that’s - in the 20 years of the team, I think that was, for me, really special."

The British former driver had a prompt reply as he revealed details of their shower:

“I did the back, he did the front."

Coulthard added that Mark Webber is the hairy one and could dry himself by just shaking. This brought out a candid response from Webber:

"He’s well-manicured though. So yeah.”

Mark Webber arrived from Williams to join Red Bull in 2007. The Australian driver stayed with the Milton-Keynes-based team for seven seasons where he helped Red Bull claim four back-to-back Constructors' Championships from 2010 to 2013.

His partnership and duel with Sebastian Vettel around this time is renowned in F1 and it is often considered the golden era of Red Bull dominance. Webber has nine race wins under his belt, all with Red Bull. Besides this, he has 42 podiums to his name.

David Coulthard raced for Red Bull for four seasons (2005 - 2008) after he arrived at the newly rebranded (from Jaguar to Red Bull) team from McLaren in 2005. Besides Red Bull and McLaren, Coulthard also raced for Williams and won 13 races and took 62 podiums combined.

They were of the opinion that the changes made in the 2026 regulations are concerning. Webber said (via PlanetF1):

"I have a concern that I feel is shared by the engineers and drivers that as we increase them to a 50/50 electrical, internal combustion that changes the profile of the lap and how the cars develop. The weight is a big problem. I mean, they’re just too heavy. All the drivers would love the cars to be lighter and when you put in another 20 kilos in, you’ve got to put more weight in to make it safer."

The 2026 regulations will feature several changes to the F1 cars to produce more wheel-to-wheel racing. The changes will be in terms of aerodynamics and powertrains as well.
