Max Verstappen's father, Jos Verstappen continued his verbal onslaught against Red Bull boss Christian Horner as he blamed the team principal for blocking his run in the legend's parade in Austria this weekend. The Dutch former F1 driver was supposed to drive the RB8 but it was later announced that his name had been withdrawn.

As the announcement came as a surprise, Jos Verstappen was approached by the media to address why something like this had happened. Seeming more than happy to oblige Max Verstappen's father has gone from one Dutch outlet to another making statements against the Red Bull team principal.

All of this began earlier in the year when Jos Verstappen got into a public spat with Christian Horner after the first race of the season in Bahrain. The Red Bull team principal was being investigated for cross-border behavior, and Max Verstappen's father was seen in an animated discussion with Horner. Jos claimed at the time that the environment within Red Bull had become toxic and needed changing.

While things remained somewhat calm since that visit by Max Verstappen's father's to the paddock, he has once again lit a fire under the the simmering tension within the team. Calling Horner's behavior childish for blocking his run in the legend's parade, the Dutch former driver told Formule1.nl,

"How childish can you be. There was going to be filming, for example, also with a drone, but Horner didn't want me to be filmed. I'm completely finished with Horner. It's like a kindergarten here. I would have been allowed to ride in the end, but I backed out. I find this so childish of Horner, but I think it says something about him."

Red Bull refutes Max Verstappen's father's claims

The spokesperson for Red Bull has refuted Max Verstappen's father's claims that Christian Horner had blocked Verstappen Sr.'s run. As reported by Mirror, the spokesperson claimed that there was no such scenario of Christian Horner going out of his way to block Jos Verstappen's run in the RB8.

Earlier in the day, Jos Verstappen told the Telegraph that he was informed by multiple sources that his move had been blocked by Christian Horner. Max Verstappen's father said,

"In the past few days I've heard from several sides that Christian Horner did everything he could to not let me drive, and otherwise to make sure that nothing would be filmed. Then I think, 'Say it to my face.' It doesn't have to be this way for me, I find it very disappointing."

All of this comes after the Red Bull driver assured the F1 community that he will stay with the team in 2025.
