F1 fans were left emotional after former Red Bull driver Daniel Ricciardo dropped a post on his social media after his exit from the sport in Singapore GP. The Aussie driver was dropped by the Visa Cash App RB at the end of the race at the Marina Bay Circuit in favor of Liam Lawson for the remainder of the 2024 season.

The eight-time race winner was a fan favorite given his cheeky personality and happy-go-lucky nature off the track. Ricciardo was known for his daring overtakes but off the track, the 35-year-old was interested in the world of fashion, business, and music.

In his most recent post on his Instagram, Daniel Ricciardo can be seen sitting in the passenger seat and singing Neck Deep's popular song 'In Bloom' in the car, with the caption:

"Punk rock kids."

The post went viral with over 400k fans liking the post with many left emotional at the citing of the former VCARB driver. One fan commented on the post and said:

VCARB team boss chimes in on Daniel Ricciardo's exit from F1

Visa Cash App RB team principal Laurent Mekies stated that Daniel Ricciardo's exit from the team and the sport should have been handled better given the official confirmation came days after the Singapore GP.

Speaking with Sky Sports F1, Mekies reflected:

"Of course we are not happy, you are absolutely right, we are not happy and we don't think we have done it in a good enough manner. There is no argument about that. The reasons behind [how it was handled] would be excuses so I don't even want to go into the reasons."
"But what is clear is that we have had many discussions with Daniel and both the team and the driver were aware we were going into that weekend with this impossible situation to deal with. We chose rightly, wrongly - probably wrongly - we chose together for many decent reasons to keep it confidential until the end of the weekend."

Daniel Ricciardo had scored 12 points from 18 races and three sprints he competed in the 2024 season and stood in P13 in the driver's championship before he was let go in favor of the Kiwi driver, with a P8 at the Canadian GP being his best finish of the season in the main race.
