Visa Cash App RB driver Daniel Ricciardo and MotoGP legend Marc Marquez cut a hilarious promo where the Spanish rider credited Ricciardo for his success in the motorsport world. Ricciardo and Marquez are both part of the Red Bull family as they started their careers in the Austrian team's academy

While the Aussie left the team for Renault and later McLaren between the period of 2019 and 2022, he returned to the fold in 2023 when he became the reserve driver and later a full-time driver on the junior team.

Ahead of the Spanish GP while doing promotional activity for the brand, both Daniel Ricciardo and Marc Marquez took part in the race with a sailboat which the RB driver won.

Recapping his weekend in Barcelona on Instagram, the 34-year-old can be seen in his post having fun with the MotoGP legend. Ricciardo was also unable to understand Marquez's Spanish. The RB driver hilariously credited himself for the Spaniard's world championships.

Marc Marquez reported the Australian's misstranslation:

"'Hey, Marc Marquez here. It's important to know how amazing Daniel is on two wheels. I owe my 8 world championships to him and my smile...'"

Red Bull advisor gives an update regarding Daniel Ricciardo's future

Red Bull advisor Helmut Marko stated that the shareholders of the team have confirmed that as RB is a junior team they will be going with Liam Lawson instead of Daniel Ricciardo for the 2025 season.

Speaking with Kleine Zeitung, the Austrian said:

“The shareholders have made it clear that it is a junior team and we have to act accordingly. The goal was that [Ricciardo] would be considered for Red Bull Racing with exceptional performances. That seat now belongs to Sergio Perez, so that plan is no longer valid. We will have to put a young driver in there soon. That would be Liam Lawson.”

While there hasn't been any official confirmation from Red Bull or Daniel Ricciardo about the 2025 season yet, the Aussie driver seemed aware of his position as during the Spanish GP press conference, he said that he will 'love to continue' with RB.

"Obviously I would like to stay. So as I say, now that I'm back in that Red Bull family that's where… I really don't see myself anywhere else. So that's where I'd love to stay and continue. I also said, I think, before the weekend in Canada that, you know, I obviously want to earn it," Ricciardo said.

Daniel Ricciardo's performances over the last couple of races have improved against his teammate Yuki Tsunoda, having finished ahead of him in both Canada and Spain, but he still trails the Japanese in the Drivers' Championship by ten points with Tsunoda scoring 19 to Ricciardo's 9.
