Lewis Hamilton suggests changes to the Monaco track after a dull race on Sunday
Lewis Hamilton stated that F1 needs to make changes to the Monaco Grand Prix weekend to make it more exciting after a dull race on Sunday saw the top 10 finish in their starting order.
Speaking with the media, including Sportskeeda, the Mercedes driver said:
“Monaco hasn’t changed much, the cars are getting bigger and there is a huge risk of colliding. I wish we had bigger roads and that the track could be wider, but I don’t think that that is ever going to be the case because it is just a small place.
“The race is continuously pretty much the same, it is a one-stop race, so I would say that maybe having special tires for this race so you have more pit stops, can create more variability."
The Ferrari-bound driver suggested making the Monaco GP a 'specific' one and asked the sport to come up with a new formula to make the racing exciting, adding:
"They [F1] can definitely come up with a specific weekend for this particular weekend, they should come up with some new formula for it rather than it just being the same. You guys might fall asleep on Sunday during the race, so creating something else.”
Lewis Hamilton finished the race in P7 after starting from the same position and added six points to his points tally, taking him to 42 points in the Drivers' Championship.
