Ralf Schumacher claims Lewis Hamilton will never be able to match his brother, Michael Schumacher, who had a historic, dominant run with Ferrari, as he lacks the traits of a leader. Hamilton is due to join the Italian team in 2025 after he announced the transfer in February.

Scuderia Ferrari achieved enormous success with former F1 legend Michael Schumacher between 2000 and 2004. The German driver won five titles in a row. His leadership and team-building skills were believed to have been the driving force.

Michael's brother, Ralf Schumacher, raised doubts about the 39-year-old's ability to emulate Michael's success. Speaking to Planet F1, Ralf said:

"The biggest difference is that Michael, among many other qualities, was able to develop a car perfectly for his driving style together with the engineers. Lewis can't do that. He's never been able to do that if you listen carefully to what the Mercedes technicians say."

As soon as Ralf's statement went viral, fans on the X platform (formerly known as Twitter) shared their opinions.

A fan supported Ralf's argument, saying, "Impossible to hate Ralf when he cooks like this."

Another fan supported the argument, saying Hamilton isn't capable of giving mechanical input to his car.

"He's not wrong. LH has never given the mechanical input into a car himself. He's relied on others and their knowledge to build him a car. The very best drivers, like Schumacher, could not only drive but help build a car," said a fan.
"However, i do agree with him! if the car by chance suits lewis.. he is brilliant.. but he can't drive around issues! he can't seem to develop the car out of issues," said another user.

However, some fans also hit out at Ralf Schumacher and accused him of being salty towards Hamilton.

"Does Ralf have a crush on Lewis? He thinks about him so much. So randomly, middle of winter- he's trying to enjoy his ski vacation - and here is Ralf speaking on him in random interviews." wrote a user.
"Nobody is annoying like Ralf," another one said.
"Ralf is relevant for being Michael's brother, and could only dream of achieving 1/10 of what Lewis has achieved," a fan wrote.

Ralf Schumacher issued a six-month ultimatum to Lewis Hamilton ahead of his Ferrari move. He claims that if the Brit failed to adapt to the pressure of driving for the Italian team, he might not see the end of his contract. According to marca.com, he said:

"Lewis must demonstrate his ability to adapt and perform at Ferrari. The danger is there; if everything goes badly, he might not see out his contract if he is unable to bounce back from his struggles."

Lewis Hamilton signed a multi-year deal with Scuderia Ferrari, effective from 2025, and is likely to arrive in Maranello sometime in January or February.
